Information about our school

Our school, the 7th Primary School of Rethymno, was built in 1996 up a hill, in the area of Koumbes, in western Rethymno, Crete. Its address is 9th Apostolaki street. It is one of the biggest schools of the town with 250 students and 25 teachers. It is situated in front of a beautiful park. It is surrounded by a tall wall full of children’s colourful paintings. In the main building, there are three floors. In the ground floor, there are the canteen, the teachers’ office, a large Assembly Hall and a library. In every school celebration, we decorate the ground floor with paper handicrafts made by the students. In the second floor, there are two classrooms, the computer lab and toilets. In the third floor, there are four classrooms. Next to the main building, there is an extra building with four classrooms. In all classrooms there are desks, chairs, boards and large windows. The large windows help this solar school be heated by the sun. In the basement there is a classroom for Music and Art full of musical instruments and paintings. In the front yard, there are two basketball fields and in the back yard there is an amphitheatre. There is also a garden where we cultivate vegetables and then we offer them to people in need.
